Privacy policy

Eqarat is run by Tadafur Technology in Libya. This page explains what data we collect, why, who sees it, and how to ask for it to be deleted.

What we collect

Account details: your name, phone number, WhatsApp number (optional) and account type. Your password is stored encrypted and nobody can read it.
Listings: title, description, price and photos, the property's location on the map if you pin it, and deed documents if you upload them for verification.
Communication: messages, viewing requests, purchase offers, reviews, reports and questions to experts.
On your device only: favourites, the comparison list, display preferences and your sign-in session, kept in your browser.

To run your account and to show and search listings.
To deliver your messages, requests and offers to the other party.
To review listings before they are published and to fight fraud and rule-breaking listings.
To send saved-search alerts, if you switch them on yourself.

Everyone: what you publish in your listing, including the contact number you choose for it, your name as a seller, and published reviews.
The other party: when you message a seller, request a viewing or make an offer, the seller sees your name and number so they can contact you.
The platform's moderation team: only to review listings and reports.
We do not sell your data, and we use no advertising trackers or third-party analytics.

Maps are served by OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap; when you open a map they receive your device's IP address, as any website you visit does.
Browser alerts go through your browser's notification service and are only switched on with your consent.
WhatsApp buttons open the WhatsApp app; conversations there follow WhatsApp's policy.

We keep your account data for as long as the account exists.
You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by emailing the address below.
We may keep records of reports and transactions as far as needed to fight fraud or meet a legal obligation.

Connections to the platform are encrypted (HTTPS), and access to data on the server is permission-controlled: nobody can see another person's messages or account data.
